ABOUT JOHN LEIGHTON

CELEBRATING HOME - OUR VISION FOR TIMELESS FURNITURE

MORE THAN FURNITURE. SPACES WHERE LIFE UNFOLDS
Furniture should do more than fill a room—it should ground it, warm it, and bring it to life. Each piece is created to hold meaning: shared meals, quiet rituals, and the everyday moments that shape a home. Crafted with intention from solid timber, natural stone, and refined glass, the collection is designed to create spaces that feel connected, calm, and deeply lived in.

DESIGNED FOR LIFE. SHAPED BY NATURE. BUILT TO LAST
Handcrafted from solid timber, dense natural stone, and thoughtfully integrated glass, each piece reflects the inherent beauty of its materials. Every curve, joint, and surface is carefully considered, balancing refined elegance with raw, organic texture. From sculptural dining tables and marble, limestone, or travertine coffee tables to bespoke timber consoles and statement TV units, each design brings presence, balance, and a quiet sense of calm to everyday living.

FURNITURE THAT GROWS WITH YOU
These are pieces designed to evolve alongside life. The dining table where family gathers, the console that welcomes you home, the shelf that holds meaningful objects—each becomes part of the story a home carries. Timeless in form and rich in character, this furniture brings warmth, depth, and enduring beauty that develops over time.

THE HEART OF OUR DESIGN

NATURE & AUTHENTICITY
Materials are chosen with intention, not only for their beauty, but for the role they play within a home. Solid timber, dense natural stone, and refined glass each bring a distinct sense of weight, warmth, and presence—shaping how a space is experienced and lived in. From the grounding strength of stone to the warmth and depth of timber, every material contributes to a feeling of balance, connection, and quiet permanence. These qualities are not added, but inherent—expressed through grain, texture, and form—creating spaces that feel settled, considered, and naturally complete.

CRAFTSMANSHIP & QUALITY
Each piece is individually handcrafted, shaped with precision, patience, and a deep respect for material. This is not off-the-shelf furniture, but a considered process where every detail—from joinery to finish—is carefully executed by skilled hands. Solid timber, dense natural stone, and refined glass are worked with intention, resulting in pieces that carry weight, presence, and authenticity. Built with integrity and designed to endure, each creation reflects a commitment to quality that is both seen and felt in everyday living.

SUSTAINABILITY & RESPONSIBILITY
Responsibly sourced timber, carefully selected stone, and considered material choices sit at the core of the practice. Each piece reflects a commitment to sustainable processes, thoughtful craftsmanship, and long-term value. By creating furniture designed to endure both physically and stylistically, the focus remains on reducing waste and encouraging a more conscious approach to furnishing the home.

DESIGN & INNOVATION
Bold yet considered, each design balances sculptural form with everyday function. Organic shapes and refined lines are carefully developed to ensure every piece is not only visually striking, but intuitive, practical, and effortless to live with. Timber, stone, and glass are brought together with clarity and purpose, creating furniture that performs as beautifully as it looks—grounded, functional, and designed for real spaces.

CONNECTION & EXPERIENCE
Every home is unique, and every journey is personal. Whether selecting a piece from the collection or creating something bespoke, the experience is guided with care—aligning vision, lifestyle, and craftsmanship to create furniture that truly belongs.

THE ESSENCE OF EVERY JOHN LEIGHTON PIECE
More than furniture, each piece represents a considered balance of material integrity, purposeful design, and everyday functionality. Solid timber, dense natural stone, and refined glass are brought together not only for their beauty, but for the qualities they contribute to a home—warmth, grounding, connection, and presence. Designed to be lived with as much as admired, every piece is created to support daily rituals, shared experiences, and the natural rhythm of home. Timeless in character and practical in purpose, each design reflects a belief that exceptional furniture should enrich both the space it occupies and the lives lived around it.

SUSTAINABILITY & MATERIALS

Where are your materials sourced from?
Sustainability and mindful craftsmanship guide every material choice we make. Our timber is sourced from responsibly managed forests, our stone from ethical quarries, and all additional materials from trusted suppliers who share our commitment to quality, transparency, and environmental responsibility.

Where possible, we incorporate sustainably harvested, reclaimed, or recycled timber and stone to reduce environmental impact while preserving the natural integrity and character of each material. Glass, metals, and fabrics are carefully selected for their durability, low-impact production, and long-term performance. Every piece is handcrafted by skilled artisans using considered processes that prioritise longevity, reduce waste, and honour the natural beauty of the materials themselves.

What materials are used in the furniture?
Each piece begins with high-quality, thoughtfully chosen materials celebrated for their strength, longevity, and timeless appeal. Our collections feature solid timber, including sustainably sourced Australian hardwoods, alongside dense natural stone such as marble, limestone, and travertine. Select designs also incorporate refined metal detailing, architectural glass elements, and premium upholstery fabrics chosen for their durability, texture, and tactile comfort.

All finishes are eco-conscious and selected to protect the material while allowing its natural character to shine through. Together, these elements create furniture designed to endure, age beautifully, and retain its integrity over time, reflecting a commitment to craftsmanship, functionality, and lasting quality.

FURNITURE CARE & LONGEVITY

Caring for your Natural Stone, Timber & Glass Furniture
Furniture should do more than fill a space—it should carry meaning, offer comfort, and stand the test of time. Each piece is handcrafted from solid timber, natural stone, and glass, selected for their beauty, strength, and ability to age gracefully. As natural materials, timber and stone will develop character over time through subtle variations in colour, grain, texture, and patina. With thoughtful care and maintenance, your furniture will continue to perform beautifully and remain a lasting part of your home for years to come.

Everyday Care
Simple, consistent care will help preserve the beauty, performance, and longevity of your furniture, ensuring it remains a valued part of your home for years to come:

  • Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth to maintain the natural texture and finish of timber, stone, and glass surfaces.
  • Wipe spills immediately with a damp cloth, then dry thoroughly. Liquids such as wine, citrus, or vinegar can damage or stain if left sitting.
  • Avoid harsh or chemical-based cleaners, use only gentle, pH-neutral products designed for natural materials.

Timber Care
Timber pieces, including Victorian Timber, Victorian Ash, and Australian Blackwood, are designed to evolve beautifully over time:

  • Keep away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent fading, drying, or warping.
  • Protect surfaces with coasters, placemats, or felt pads to avoid scratches, heat marks, or moisture rings.
  • Treat timber annually with a natural furniture oil or wax suited to the specific wood type to nourish the grain, enhance depth, and preserve its rich tone.

Environmental Conditions
Natural materials respond to their environment. To help preserve the integrity of your furniture, avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, excessive moisture, extreme temperatures, or significant fluctuations in humidity. These conditions may cause natural movement, expansion, contraction, fading, or surface changes over time and are not considered manufacturing defects.

Natural Stone Care
Limestone, marble, and travertine are timeless, elegant, and naturally porous materials that require ongoing care and maintenance:

  • Seal annually with a high-quality stone sealer, such as Aqua Mix Sealer’s Choice Gold, to help protect against staining and moisture absorption.
  • Clean using Aqua Mix Stone Cleaner or another pH-neutral stone cleaner. Avoid abrasive products, bleach, vinegar, citrus-based cleaners, or other acidic substances that may etch, dull, or damage the surface.
  • Use coasters, trivets, placemats, or protective pads beneath hot, rough, wet, or abrasive items.
  • Avoid heavy impacts, dragging objects across the surface, or placing excessive weight on unsupported areas.

With proper care, natural stone surfaces will maintain their beauty, character, and functionality for many years.

Glass Care
Glass surfaces are delicate yet enduring, offering a modern complement to timber and stone:

  • Clean regularly with a soft, lint-free cloth and a mild, non-abrasive glass cleaner.
  • Avoid harsh chemicals, ammonia-based products, or rough scrubbing that can scratch or damage the surface.
  • Protect from heavy impacts and avoid placing hot or sharp objects directly on the glass.

A Final Note
Each piece is handcrafted with care and designed to become a meaningful part of your home for years to come. As natural materials evolve over time, regular maintenance will help preserve their beauty, performance, and longevity. For personalised guidance on caring for your timber, stone, or glass furniture, our team is always available to assist and ensure your piece continues to be enjoyed for generations.
